Downtown Brooks is a unique business community located in the heart of the city. Our mission is to create a vibrant and thriving business district that fosters growth and innovation. We are proud to support a wide range of businesses and entrepreneurs, from startups to established enterprises.
At Downtown Brooks, we strive to create an environment where businesses can collaborate, share ideas and drive meaningful change. We host a variety of events that bring together the local business community and promote new trends, projects and initiatives. We are constantly looking for ways to enrich our community through the development of innovative business core projects.
Past PROJECTS
Downtown Brooks business members have been working together since 1997 to make Downtown Brooks the vibrant city core it is today!

1999 parking lot at the corner of 2nd Ave and 3rd Street West revitalized adding fencing and planters.

2000 parking lot at the corner 2nd Ave and 1st Street West revitalized adding fencing & planters

2001 the park to the west of City Hall, was dedicated as “Veterans Park.” Interlocking Allan Block flower planters and a fountain were installed in the park.

2002 the intersection of 1st Ave and 1st Street West and in front of City Hall receive a major facelift. This included new curbing, interlocking paving blocks, large planters. A couple of years later the clock was installed in front of City Hall.

In 2009 Downtown Brooks hired a consultant to completely reimagine/redesign Veterans Park as a civic square. It would take four years before the money could be raised to complete the project.

Veterans Park was completely upgrade/revitalized in the summer and fall of 2013. It was officially rededicated as “Veterans Centennial Park” on May 15, 2014.

Between 2015 and 2018, 2nd Street West and 1st Street West, between 1st and 2nd Avenue, and 1st Avenue in front of City Hall had extensive infrastructure work, sidewalks replaced, heritage lights installed, and the streets were repaved.

June 2016 the two public parking lots at the corner of 2nd Ave and 3rd Street West and 2nd Ave and 1st Street West were upgraded and repaved.

April 2019 the gazebo was installed in Veterans Centennial Park.
Along with many events held, hosted or sponsored by Downtown Brooks such as car shows, moonlight madness & Christmas in the Park.
CURRENT PROJECTS
Downtown Murals
Murals are a big part of Downtown
Brooks with many commissioned by Communities in Bloom.
Downtown Brooks is working on highlighting these murals and adding more to beautify as well as draw interest to downtown.
Business Registry
A business registry is currently being set up in part to the Downtown Brooks website. Highlighting all the businesses within the Downtown Core and making them easily accessible in one place.
Downtown Beautification
Cleaning up and adding more green space to Downtown Brooks to create a beautiful, edgy, easily accessible and walkable shopping, eating & entertainment district.
